About Deb Horton Counseling
My approach at Deb Horton Counseling is openness, compassion and acceptance of all lifestyles, backgrounds and beliefs. I begin by making a person-to-person connection, noting your strengths and skills. I help people work through a variety of issues, including transitions, stress or anxiety, depression, grief and advanced or chronic illness. I see adults, age 18+.
I'm a (cis/het) LGBTQIA+ supporter with advanced education and clinical experience working with people who are transgender/gender diverse.
Of course, you do not have to be LGBTQIA+ to work with me. Additionally, I am kink and poly/consensual non-monogamy affirmative and sex-positive.
I have a Bachelor's in Social Work from the University of New Hampshire and a Master's in Social Work from Fordham Graduate School of Social Services in New York City. I am licensed in NH (#1612), VT (#089.0134335) and MA (#000124172). My pronouns are she/her/hers.

Payment and Insurances
I accept private pay at a session rate of $140. I also reserve some reduced fee spots. For any insurance I am not contracted with, you can call your insurance company to see if you have an out-of-network benefit. That means you pay me my rate (cash, check, credit card) and I then provide you with a ‘super bill’ that you submit to your insurance and they may reimburse you for a portion of it.
I accept several insurances:
- New Hampshire Healthy Families/Ambetter/Cenpatico (Medicaid Managed Care Organizations)
- Medicare including some Medicare Advantage plans
- Tufts
- United/Optum/Harvard Pilgrim/Health Plans Inc.
